Day 2

( Saturday )

Repulse Bay - Lamma island  -  Stanley - Bluff Island

•   Lamma island:From a traditional Chinese fishing village to a laid-back multicultural community, Lamma’s blend of Western and Chinese island life creates an atmosphere that has proved irresistible for Hong Kong’s busy residents. Many come here as day-trippers; some stay for good.

•  Stanley:You won’t be long at Stanley before you understand why this sleepy seaside village on Hong Kong Island’s south side is a favourite with foodies and shoppers.views of the South China Sea, pubs and watering holes, and a great choice of local and international food.

•  Bluff Island: Bluff Island (Sha Tong Hau Shan), or Ung Kong Chau, lies west of Basalt Island and south of Town Island (Fo Tau Fan Chau). In the southern corner of this small island you can find one of the four biggest sea caves in our eastern waters ¾ Sha Tong Hau Cave.Viewed from above, Bluff Island resembles a turtle with four legs stretched out wide. Lushly wooded slopes of the rounded hills roll gently down to scenic sandy bays. This is an ideal place to study rhyolite. Formations in clearly defined layers are prominent across the island, and along the wavy shores, huge blocks tower by the water. Fan Tap Pai in the south is one of the most breathtaking coastal rock scenes in Hong Kong. This huge sea cave cuts right through the island and it is just wide enough for a boat to sail past. Not a bad idea for a leisure sea expedition. Bluff Island is also a diving hot spot. An increasing number of divers are coming here to explore the mysterious ocean.

Bluff Island  -  Tai Long  -  Central

•  Tai Long Wan:scenic eastern end of Hong Kong Island, close to the Dragon’s Back hiking trail. It’s also home to a prehistoric rock carving that is now preserved as a Declared Monument. Remaining undiscovered until a police officer stumbled upon it in 1970, the rock carving shows geometric designs and animals, and is one of many similar carvings found around coastal areas of Hong Kong. These cultural art works reinforce how much Hong Kong’s early inhabitants must have depended on the sea. Eateries surrounding the beach provide light refreshments.
